Diary Entry – 05th May 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! A very much well deserved day off and we even had a bit of sun as well. I had a bit of a lie in as I was a bit tired after yesterday evening. I did wake up at an relatively early time but spent a bit of time trying to understand my new app for my batteries. The Moho was still in the body shop but was still getting a little solar so could see it in action. One of the first to do when one of the lads got here was to move it back outside to let the bonding settle and dry in case it rained over night.

A bit more upmarket that Barge In Booze

So as soon as i got chance i pulled it out of the Body shop and just sat it in the sun a bit so i could see it working. It was early and the sun was out a bit so i could see roughly what was going in. It was magical to watch. We never use anything with a large power draw on the motorhome so i think what we have now will be absolutely more than enough to see us through and i think even with another TV and 12v sound bar we would be able to survive off grid (granted the fridge will be on gas) for weeks at a time now. Even in relatively cloudy conditions as i have not even had chance to test the DOD (depth of discharge) on the batteries yet. In theory over time will pay for itself but i cant quantify is the peace of mind not worrying about the battery going or saying don’t put that light on etc etc.

After id finished tinkering and put some water in the motorhome and got parked up i went and had a bit of time in the shop. I do really enjoy just sitting in there is is quite strange but when it is quiet in there it is just a nice place to be. I did a few hours work and helped a few customers who came in the shop even though we were shut, so i served them, nothing juicy just bits that people needed. We then decided to have a little walk up to Anderton boat lift and i had no idea how close we were to it, it is literally a 3 or 4 minute walk to it from the shop. There is a little marina and a stretch of canal that has loads of barges on it soi can quite surprised and impressed how close it was. There is a visitor centre and everything with a café. It did look very cool but at that time on a Sunday afternoon on a bank holiday weekend it was closed but Mum has been up here before and said it is great.

As we were walking down the canal we walked passed a cocktail barge so we decided to have a strawberry vodka cocktail for our walk and we made our way about a mile down the canal path before we decided to turn back around and head to the Stanley Arms which is a pub just by the shop which is right on the canal side. We probably had a few hours in there before making our way back to the Moho. It has been such a lovely afternoon together and feels like an age since we had done anything like this together.

Anderton & Marbury are great. Did you find the play area? Are you parked up near work? We arrived in Dieppe last night, shame we could have met up.
