Diary Entry – 28th April 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Had a slow old day today and what feels like the first day we have been able to sort of sit down and do nothing. The shop doesn’t open on Sundays so no work to be done although sometimes i like going to the shop and doing live chats or answering awning questions in the store anyway. I find it quite a therapeutic place to be and to work from so spent an hour in there today. The Beef fell asleep so me and Mum had a bit of computer time together which we seldom get.

The Beef!

After an absolute palaver with Vodafone i am due to get my new phone tomorrow. I have been on the verge of leaving them as a network provider about 5 times now but every time, mainly driven by laziness to be honest i always end up not leaving and then saddling myself with a commitment of about 3 years with them. I have just found that there customer service over the last year or so has been absolutely abysmal and it never used to be that bad but trying to do anything is just impossible and it ruins my whole day because everything take about an hour. It really really frustrates me.

I have another 6 day week this week but it is my plan to work as much as i can over the next 6 or so weeks as i have a bit of a rest at then end of May with Vanlife Fest. Strangely enough this will be our first ever show/ festival that we have attended that we are not working so we will have a full weekend with the Beef and us with our new solar panels (touch wood) and have a nice weekend to relax from the bust period we are in now. I have always had a tendency to put myself under massive physical pressure to work as hard as i can in the run up to holidays so I feel like i have earnt it.

So May will be working 27 days out of 31 as i would normally take the shop shuts on a Sunday but when you are at the shows then we are obviously open on Sundays. The shows are really good fun the worst part about the shows is packing up ready to go and unpacking on that SUnday night when we get back here when all you want to do is to go to sleep and rest your feet. That is the worsdt part is the pain in your feet from standing up and walking non stop pretty much, but never really feels like work though and is more liberal than wokring in shop. Having bottles of Peroni in the shop at 3pm is frowned upon but not so much at the shows!
