Diary Entry – 31st January 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

We all had a relatively late night and therefore a late morning. We are so so lucky that the Beef is such a good sleeper and to be fair he always has been and to think he was sleeping through from probably 2 months. So were blessed with that. So when we have a late night he may not wake until after 9am which is extremely fortunate. There is nothing worse than being tired all day. Especially in the heat and with a baby. To be honest being tired makes me quite anxious so I’m not very good in being tired.

It is the Moroccan national football teams fault because they have been knocked out. To be brutally honest I’m more frustrated that we had been and bought Mum a brand new Morocco top, a proper real life genuine fake, that was definitely real from the Uni Prix. The only thing that stopped me from buying one was the fact i tried a XXL and i could even get it over my head it would have been like stuffing meat into sausages. I would have probably needed a 5XL to even get close. I am definitely going to try and lose some weight ah ah ahaa, A bit like a broken record but i will know when the time is right. Probably not this week anyway.

You can definitely start to tell that we are on the upward trajectory with the weather and the daylight hours. This evening we were still sitting outside until about 8pm and it was not really absolutely fully dark so i am really excited to see what it is going to be like come the end of February and into March etc wherever we may be in Morocco at that time. It is proper pay day tomorrow so we will go and take some money up to reception and pay another load off of our site fees. That is one of the best things about here is that you can pay when you leave so we pay normally maybe 3000dhm a month and that is a little bit short of what it costs a month but we didn’t want to not be giving them anything and then have like a £2000 bill at the end. When we paid some money last end of December we were pretty much up to date. It works out about £450 a month including electrcity, water, facilities etc which when you compare that to the UK sites or renting a house in the UK it is great price.

For tea tonight we attended a small birthday party round at Naims motorhome. It was his birthday so there was some food there and stuff. TO be fair i always say he is a great cook but to be honest i am pretty certain it is his wife who cooks it all and he takes the credit for it. Arlet is an absolutely incredible cook and puts us all to shame, every meal we have ever had round there has been expertly prepped and cooked. I am a fussy eater but the curry last night had spinach in and i was eating it anyway. That is how nice it was, honestly. For starter there were some mince kebab things with salad and nice semi spicy sauce. I appreciate that “mince kebab things” is not its official name but i wouldn’t want to insult it by trying to guess. In the picture you can even see the Beef tucking into it!
