Diary Entry – 24th April 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Oh my god i thought earlier on i had broken my back. It was the worst and most excruciating pain I had ever experienced. I will tell you a bit more about that later on. We are supposed to be on a hot streak of it not raining now until the weekend so hopefully get a bit of a dry spell but i am going to endeavour to not talk about the weather much today as it seems to be a large percentage of everything that is in here. I had another day in the shop today and got stitched up by another infamous do i have “10 minutes” to help the Dodge in the shop which incidentally is never 10 minutes but testament to how much he has grown as a leader since i was here last summer he know puts that 10 minutes in inverted commas with his hands so he knows and i know it is not going to be 10 minutes.

Still a bit under the weather

The Beef is still under the weather, he seems to have a cough still and a bit of a viral rash on his back. To be fair though he is pretty good with it in the day but the last few nights have been a bit of a challenge as he seems to be waking up at about 4:30am in the morning and having a crying episode that seems to last for maybe 20 minutes. So whether that is still part of this phase of sleep regression or not i am not but it has been tough. Especially then working in a relatively labour intensive job. It is a bit of a perfect storm at the moment though as he is under the weather, sleep regression and then he is teething again and he is slobbering buckets so to be fair considering all of those he is doing incredibly well. He has always been a little warrior.

Whilst i have been at A and E today i had a company that does of the MOTs on the vans here to come and look at my motorhome to try and have a look as to what is going on and if there is a leak somewhere or what is going on with it. So that was a guy under the motorhome with the engine running for about 15 minutes and from he says he thinks that is going to be needing a new radiator and is going to need a service. He can only squeeze me in though on the 8th May and it may take more than a day to sort it out dependant on how bad the bolts are. We are due to go to Nottingham on Thursday or Friday to set up for the Outdoor Revolution Show. So that is going to be touch and go to see whether we can get it done on the Wednesday ready for the Thursday.

During this 10 minutes that the Dodge signed me up for i was lifting heavy boxes and gas bottles packing stuff away and i was absolutely fine but i leant forward to slightly rearrange a lightweight Vango chair and then all of a sudden i felt this sharp shooting pain up through my back, the pain was that bad it took my breath away and i felt the colour drain from my face. I honestly thought I was going to have to call 999 and go to A and E. I have never experienced a pain like it before in my life. It did ease off after the first few minutes but i could barely move. I got straight into the motorhome after that and lay on the bed. I couldnt lie down and lift either of my feet off the ground.
