Diary Entry – 23rd March 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Welcome back to Europe, we moved on from Gib because we needed electric hook up it was stressing me out not being plugged in so we packed up and headed East. 99% of the time we have travelled we have always headed west and we have not done this part of Spain so looking forward to seeing a bit of it. We drove about 2 or 3 hours in the end and got stitched up by about 30 euros worth of toll road which was an absolute nightmare. Think it cost us more to do that bit of road in Spain than pretty much Agadir to Tangier Med in tolls.

Loved the Spanish entertainment at the Campsite

We were going to drive another hour or so but i decided i couldn’t be bothered i was still feeling a little tired from the last couple of days in Gibraltar. I knew i was tired because A i didn’t want to drive any further than absolutely necessary and also i turned down a MacDonalds. We got passed Benalmadena and found a campsite which wasn’t stupidly expensive called El Pino and pulled in there. It was quite a tight turn in to the campsite with a very short drive so when we got in the woman asked us to look around and choose a pitch to stop on.

She wouldn’t let us through the barrier so i had to reverse back out with a 7 metre motorhome onto a main road and feeling as tired as i did i was contemplating just driving on things like that frustrate me a bit. Just let me on the site find a pitch, take my passport if you have to but don’t make me reverse out. Do you know sometimes when you just get that feeling? That something isn’t quite right, there wasn’t a buzz about the place but we decided to stay for one night so just chose any pitch i just wanted to lay down and close my eyes for an hour and put my air conditioning on. SO we parked up closest to the exit, Mum went over to a bit of a restaurant/ bar on site and i went to sleep.

I was woken up by an entertainer on the balcony singing his heart out and Mum and the Beef were having a whale of a time. I got up out of bed and made my way over to them and to be fair all of a sudden this place didn’t feel too bad so we probably misjudged the campsite. I cannot quite put my finger on it but when we first got here it just didn’t feel very welcoming. Another thing as well we still have not found somewhere we like as much as Atlantica Parc Imourane.
