Diary Entry – 10th February 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Today was the big day! Today was party day. One problem? I felt a bit rough from yesterday. But will go into that more a little later on. And as always we were not particularly organised. We fetched the chicken yesterday so we had that but we still needed to try and find some fajita kits otherwise we were going to have to go solo and try and do it with out. We had one one jar of sauce left but we were thinking that there maybe 12 odd people at pitch 352 so we were short. We have been walking at least 5k a day so at the end of the walk we walked up into town to some of the shops but everywhere we went we didn’t have them in. That was when the panic really started to set in.

I couldn’t believe how quickly everything had dried up over night. Yesterday everything was soaked and then by 11am this morning it was pretty much like it hadn’t rained. Apart from the occasional massive puddle. When we were in the little town there was fajita kits, no jars so we were going to have to wing it this afternoon. The thing was were didn’t get back from our walk until midday so we didn’t have any time to make an alternative plan. We had 2 jars of Tex Mex/ Mexican spices and 1 wet jar or El Del Paso Fajita sauce so just threw it in and hoped for the best. My cunning plan was to get people round for 2pm but not start cooking until about 4pm and let people get a bit tipsy first as food always tastes better when you have had a beverage.

Whilst everyone was outside i came i to the motorhome to start cutting the chicken up and put the Stoke game on in the back ground and after having it on for 3 minutes i turned it back off again because we are crap. I mean absolutely crap. We also wanted to do some chips as Cassie couldn’t have the wraps so she had air fryer chips and fajita stuff. We also put some spicy crisps out as well and even Naim said they were spicy and he likes his food.

I organised a little off the cuff quiz and from what i can remember everyone had a good time. I always like doing these little events and getting lots of people together its nice to get so many people together and just reiterates to me why I would want a campsite in Morocco because you know you could probably do one of them once a month or so with whoever was on the campsite. I think in the end it was us that called an end to the festivities as if id have been up much later i was in danger of possibly suffering again tomorrow. TO be fair i was shattered as id been up since 5am this morning so a early night was needed.
