Diary Entry – 02nd January 2024

The dreaded first day back Christmas in New Year, the great thing is i was quite looking forward to getting going. I spent an hour in the morning on the phone to the Dodge and then 2 hours on the phone to Jen. The Mr and Mrs of A and E Leisure just working out a plan for the coming year and stuff and find out how they got on over the Christmas period. We sent the girls both of our Rory and Koji books and we were delighted that they absolutely loved them, to be fair i think Jen enjoyed them more than the girls. They have demanded a new addition so i keep trying to get Mum to put one into her timetable so we willno doubt keep you updated.

Today was the 2nd part of extending our visa for another 90 days so we have finally got all of our paperwork from reception here and then all we needed to do was to make our way into banana town and get some passport pictures and then on to the town hall. The town is about a 4km away to the pictures bit and the town hall is on the way home. I walked 5.5k in the morning so i must have walked in the region on 13k or 14k yesterday. I absolutely hate doing things like that, i find them so so stressful and what made it worse was no one there spoke English and as i thought we were sorted we left but then had someone chasing us down the street as they had given us the wrong change. So we got got marched back to the town hall to pay the extra 15mdh which is £1.20. Terrifying!

All we had to do then was to take the documents with the passport photos back to the campsite and then they do the rest and drop the visa back off to us after about 14 days. That is ideal for us as we don’t want to leave here any earlier than Feb anyway. Well, our visa technically finishes on the 26th January but to qualify for the cheapest rate of site fees need to be here for 90 days+ to qualify. So that will be 29th January. So after that date if we want to move on we can do. But i may stay here for Feb and see how i feel in March. I may move to Marrakech in March and have a week all inclusive and leave my van at La Relais. It is my birthday in March so would be nice to go back tothe same place as last year.
