Diary Entry – 16th January 2023

Last night was tough, Rory is teething so was crying from 4pm until 10pm, it got to the point I was out walking him in the pitch black around the campsite in his baby carrier. That seemed to do the trick and within 5 minutes he was gone, but the fear of waking up meant he was put in bed with his winter suit on. Didn’t dare take him out of it. Then all is quiet, you go sleep, wake up and boom!! Monsoon weather, the support air beam had bent and meant water could pool on the top and as I have gone to push it off pushed it straight into the attachable porch door. Clothes soaked, loads of stuff that was in there soaked. It then has literally chucked it down all day, almost 4 inches of will fall today. I didn’t bring my arm bands annoyingly. I can imagine the Somme looked like the outside of my awning.

The plan was to head to Gijon tomorrow but because of the wet clothes etc will probably stay here for another day at least. We have tried to find some dry weather all over Spain and the outcome is the same most places RAIN. So just have to rough out this wet spell. We should be in Portugal in 7ish days so hopefully start getting some proper sun. I’m so eager to get my Speedo’s out!!

The Lidl we went to was brilliant, it was literally amazing, shelves full, really good dates on everything. They even had a machine that cut the bread up for you. It was fantastic. It feels weird saying that about a Supermarket but it was a real eye opener. Hopefully this rain stops tomorrow, got some miles to burn…. See you tomorrow. Rich

  1. Phew, just read all your blogs in one go, will read them daily from now on, we are planning to take our little caravan over to France for about 3 weeks in the summer but I’m going to tell my husband how many miles you are doing and see if I can push for 4 weeks away 🙂 look forward to reading all your adventures. See if you can buy plastic teething ring that you can put in freezer for little one to suck on x
