Diary Entry – 16th February 2023

This was it! The day we had planned for! A plan that had held us up for 3 days, delayed Morocco, added an extra 100 miles onto our route. However, an opportunity to see 3 of Portugals top 10 natural wonders in a day couldn’t be passed up! So we woke up from our overnight stop which was a Lidl car park but honestly it was one of the best sleeps we have had. We woke around 07:40 so I fed the wee man and got him in his push chair for his early morning walk. I wanted to try and find some stalls. The storks in Portimao are massive and make the most peculiar noise I’ve ever heard. Like a child’s toy gun, or something from alien/ predator.

First on the list was Benagil Cave. Another boat trip woohoo!! I was confident I’d be ok this time, no kebab before, in the open air and the breeze on my face. I was wrong spent 60% with my head over the side of the boat being sick. Rory slept through it fortunately but Lisa said it was brilliant! Then a 40 minute drive to Punta da Piedade which was another cove but with 180 steps down to it. What an incredible place it was, literally incredible! You have to go! Then onto Ohlis de Agua which was the final one of the 3. We then got hit with the realisation that we were over 4 hours from our site, but rather than do it all in one go I decided to get 2 hours out of the way snd save the rest for tomorrow.

We spent the night around the back of a sports centre outside of Sevilla which was a free one again but with no electric but driving all day meant the batteries were ok and the Jackery was fine. Had such a wonderful day today, it’s probably been the hottest day so far with temperatures up around 19 degrees. Very very toasty. For me that’s perfect temperature anything much more then it would be too hot for me. Anything over 21 is too hot. Hope you all had a great day. Rich.
