Diary Entry – 14th March 2023

We were flying this morning, when Rory woke up at 7am and as he was being fed, Lisa was over in the shower getting ready to go. We then did a switcheroo and she came and finished his food off and i went for a shower. We had arranged to be gone for 11am. So we were making good time, he resisted going down for a nap but he went over eventually and we were working excellently as a team, so i was loading the camper and Lisa was doing the dishes. We were ready to go at 10:55 which for us, to be on time, and be early was an incredible achievement. There is a man on the campsite that drives around on a horse and tries to get you on to have some pictures for a small fee. I had been telling him for weeks that i will do it later so, as a man of my word i went and found him and told him i would be coming to see him at 11am. He was delighted.

I ended up giving him about 150mad which works out at about £13 but he had mithered me everyday but never put pressure on, every time he laid eyes on me he would stand up in the stirrups a hold his gun in the air. So it was worth it for the ground work he put in, it is also one of my favourite pictures with the Beef. SO, sat nav set up,. Ness and Gee had emptied there grey waste and we were off. Those guys followed us to the new campsite. It is only 14kms away so only a 30 minute drive and we got there with no real issues. Which is always nice.

If i could give any advice about driving in Morocco, it would be to let them know that when people peep there horn at you it is not in a an aggressive way it is actually letting you know that they are there. Once you start to understand, it gives you a bit of insight into Morocco itself, you just have to understand it. This site is another nice one, the prices for the most part tend to be £7 or £8 a night which is nothing. This has a swimming pool again and stuff like that including electricity. It is wonderfully cheap and the sites are very good. Way above my expectations. Think the plan is we will be here for 2 nights and then either move to another site near Marrakech or head further south to somewhere like Agadir. The weather seems to be cooler by the coast and i wouldn’t mind a cool cloudy day to be honest.
