Down at A and E Leisure today sorting out ex demo awnings but also starting the prep for the show this week. There is so much work that goes into the preperation for them. THe plannig starts weeks before with the working out the space we have at shows and what awnings will go where, what awnings to take and so on. There are going to be a few of this year and we have more space than we have had for previous years. This will only be my second show and last year was set up on Friday and then show Saturday and Sunday but this one the traders have to set up on Wednesday and the gates open at 2pm on Thursday letting people in so in theory a 3.5 day show for people but a 5 day show for the traders.
As you can imagine a huge awning showroom collects a few ex demos and returns that customers didn’t like etc so i have always been the guy that sorts them out. I don’t know how i have acquired that job as my thing has always been sales. That is my speciality, i have always been told that i have the gift of the gab and i have pretty much always worked in sales in some capacity. It is just something that i have always found it very easy. In A and E world i have ended up sorting out ex demos and picking all the stock for the show. It is funny how it all works out ha ha ha.
I am really looking forward to the show, especially as it will be the beefs first festival of sorts and we will be without electric hook up for 4 nights/ 5 days so be interesting to see how we get on. This will be the longest that we have been without hook up so i am a bit nervous looking at the temperatures whilst we are there. We have bought him one of those little sleeping bags for babies that they zip so i will worry less. It cannot be as cold as that first night in Salamanca when it dropped to 3 degrees over night and we have no idea it was going to be that cold and we just assumed it would be nice because we were in Spain. Not taking in account we were 500 metres above sea level.
