Diary Entry – 31st December 2023

I was up and out of the Moho for about 9am as i had a big cooking operation on. Yesterday we bought 2kg of chicken breast and as you can see from below there were a few people there so i needed to get started early so it didn’t impact my socialising time on the street. When we bought the chicken we asked for the butcher to dice it up for us as i didn’t fancy dicing 2kg of chicken. The recipe normally does 2 to 3 people so we tripled everything and it is things like the garlic and the onions that seem to take a lot of time. To be honest I was a bit nervous as i didn’t want to mess it up as people were expecting it and also under pressure from the Christmas Eve curry.

I was probably outside for about 2.5 hours tinkering with it and getting ready to put it on simmer but it was quite nice even if i do say so myself. I got given a cheeky little portion of Beef curry from Elaine so i put a little bit of mine into a plastic pot and took them a bit round with a bit of chicken and she seemed to like it so that was a weight off my shoulders. The party started at 2pm so at 1:30pm i started doing my shuttle runs to and from my pitch to CS with chairs, the beer fridge and jackery and stuff. I then had to come back a little bit later than that to get his play pen and carry that round.

Once again we had an amazing evening with some fantastic people and that is one of the things i love about Morocco is it brings loads of different people together and despite being over several generations, different walks of life, different vehicles and different jobs back home we are all united by being here. We had an amazing starter which was once again prepared by Naieem and it was Tandoori chicken wraps and they were simply spectacular. I was a little bit more tactical in my approach i thought id let every get a bit more drunk as you always seem to enjoy curry more when you have had a few beverages. FOrtunately everyone seemed to like the curry only problem was there was probably enough curry for about another 5 people but id always rather have too much food than not enough.
