Welcome to todays diary entry! Stoke won yesterday, which was a nice little boost. To be fair, we’ve looked decent over the last few games—not world-beaters, but definitely more organised and a bit sharper in key areas. I’m still cautious about getting too optimistic, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t feeling a bit less concerned about relegation now.

We’ve got a long road ahead, but if we can keep this form going, we might just pull ourselves out of trouble. It’s been a tough season to watch at times, so a little glimmer of hope is very welcome.

We were meant to head over to Blakemere today to start getting everything set up, but Dodge asked if we could hang on another day so he could come down with us. It made sense to wait and head over as a group, so we stayed put for one more night. To be honest, one more evening at home isn’t such a bad thing—it gives us one final chance to catch our breath before we dive headfirst into what’s going to be a very full-on week.

It also meant we could get a few more bits packed and make sure we weren’t forgetting anything, which always helps when you know you’re about to be on-site for a good while.

I’m actually looking forward to getting over there and getting stuck in. We’ll end up being there for most of the week, which will be nice. It’ll feel good to be fully immersed in the show setup rather than dashing back and forth.

Being based there for a while will let us focus properly, get ahead on the jobs, and just settle into the rhythm of the event as it unfolds. It’s a big thing to pull off, so having time on-site is essential for peace of mind.

The weather’s still holding up brilliantly too. Since we got back from Morocco, I can’t believe how nice it’s been. Chilly in the mornings and evenings for sure, but during the day it’s been absolutely cracking.

We’ve really had the luck of it so far—not a drop of rain to test out my new roof light either, which is probably a good thing, all things considered! After coming from months of warm, dry weather, the fear was that we’d come back to endless drizzle—but we’ve avoided it so far.

Work was busy again today—no surprise really, Sundays seem to have cemented themselves as the new peak day. It’s been consistent for a few weeks now, and today was no different. Lots of foot traffic, a good atmosphere, and more of that lovely ‘came in for a look, left with a trolley full’ kind of customer. It’s good to see that change in footfall paying off. The team’s been on it and the results are showing.

The other big bit of news is that the new system is apparently landing on Tuesday. That’s exciting, but also slightly terrifying. One of the main reasons we came back from Morocco early was to make sure we were around for the launch and transition. It’s something we want to be present for, to support the team and iron out any teething issues.

Fingers crossed it goes smoothly and doesn’t cause any major disruption. We’ve put a lot of faith in it making things easier, but like with anything new, there’s always that chance of hiccups.

That said, I can’t help but feel like we might be heading into a bit of a bumpy ride. Between launching our biggest show yet and rolling out a new system at the same time—right on the back end of one of our busiest months—it’s a lot.

We’ve handled pressure before though, and we always come out the other side. But yeah… buckle up. It’s going to be one of those weeks where we earn every bit of the down-time that (hopefully) follows.
