Welcome to todays diary entry! What should have been a really stress free day because of all the graft we put in yesterday turned out to be an absolutely horrendous stressful day. The stress pretty much started from the very beginning of the day i was awake at about 06:00am because i didn’t sleep very well in the port. It is really bright and there is always a bit of traffic and the weather was almost apocalyptic with the wind and the rain and it was the first time we had seen anything like this since we had those windy days back in the early days at Camping Atlantica when we had awful wind for about 48 hours.

But i was feeling upbeat because we had dusted off a load of driving so as soon as i seen the windows open for ferry tickets i finished my cup of tea and headed off to get our tickets for todays ferry. I got there about 08:50 and there was a guy there already who advised that there was a system issue so i waited with him in that queue expecting it to be 10 or 15 minutes. After i waited 45 minutes there seemed to be a bit of movement and i went to the window and the guy did the usual stuff and off we went. As we went to drive into the check in part of the ferry terminal we were greeted by a guy in an orange coat who told us we needed to check in, which we had. I explained this to him and he told me to pull over for 10 minutes. By the time he came back to me it was about 10:10 and he told me i needed ot go back to the window. The queue now was about 5 times bigger than when i had left. After standing around for another 45 minutes the traffic started to move but i had come to the realisation that the 11am ferry was quickly becoming a pipe dream. So looking at the schedule the next ferry was 14:30 which was annoying. A Dutch guy looked at the official board and it said that actually our ferry wasn’t going to depart until 12:40. Still annoying because it was 2 hours late. Although not as bad as 14:30

So we got on the boat about 12:20 but then for what ever reason the boat just sat around for what felt like an eternity and didn’t leave the port until 13:15 so i was pretty cheesed off at this point as my main worry was how much the boat was bobbing up and down in the port. I was also worried now that my anti sickness tablets were going to wear off. I’d just eaten and was feeling pretty tired by this point so i lay down on the sofa bit and managed a bit of a power nap for 40 minutes and by this time we were in the straight of Gibraltar and not a million miles away from being back on the mainland. TOP TIP! We took our big power bank on the boat and lots of electricals so we could charge them all up!
By the time we got off the boat and into Al Cadeisa Marina it was nearly 4pm and the park up was absolutely rammed! Probably the busiest i have ever seen it! Literally crammed in to every little bit of space. After a while we locked up and took a walk over the run way and went for some food. We also did a little supermarket sweep and went into a supermarket to top up on some English food bits:
Yorkshire Tea Bags
Custard Cremes
Chocolate Hob Nobs
Hot Chocolate
Tomato Soup
Orange Squash
Bacon
Sausage
Spaghetti Hoops
Coffee Sachets
Cheese
Muller Corner Yoghurts
