Diary Entry – 29th December 2023

I always find this time of year a bit strange that sort of limbo between Christmas and New Year especially as I’m not particularly enamoured with New Year it always seems a like a bit of a fluff about nothing. I spent another day doing as much work as i can in between doing family bits and pieces. We have had a slow start on taking the Christmas decorations down and get the Moho back in normal mode. I always laugh at my Mum because as i have gotten older she has started putting the decorations up earlier and taking them down earlier as well. They go up around the 20th November and them come down pretty much on boxing day.

We now have one eye on NYE as we have said that we will cook this time and as there might be quite a few we are going to do a curry again. Everyone loves a curry so just going to stick to what i know. Since meeting these guys on Coronation Street has really got us thinking about what we would do next year as we initially talked about getting a flight home and spending it in the UK but i’m not sure now as it is a long old way to fly us all back. It is not so much that but we don’t really have winter clothes so it would need a days worth of time shopping buying winter stuff.

The weather also seems to have really kicked up a notch it has certainly seemed considerably warmer these last couple of days compared to the few before. It has been very very warm. To be honest almost a bit too hot for us guys. I say that but in the morning it is still rather chilly. When we were first here we would throw the diesel heater on but it was a bit too noisy for our French neighbours so we had only been putting it on at 08:30 in the morning but last few nights we have had the electric heater on low over night to keep the nip out air in the night time. We have always been fine every other night but the noise as well keeps the Beef asleep for longer as it blocks out call to prayer and the dogs.
