Diary Entry – 28th May 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! I was supposed to be taking my wheel off this evening but one of the few people i would trust to doit had to finish work early so he couldn’t in the end. I think tomorrow i am going to have to take destiny in my own hands and try and find a garage that can possibly have a look at it. We have a preferred garage that we use at A and E but they are incredibly busy and are a member of staff down so even trying to get them on the phone is an absolute nightmare so there is a few garages on here so i am planning on sending Mum around with the baby and see if she can find someone to look at it! In an attempt to try and break the bad luck cycle we are going to try and make our own luck.

We spend a lot of time looking back at older pictures especially the this time last year ones and this time last year on this day was an extremely important one for us as a family and an integral part of our movements since then. This was the day we went to Glossop’s to have a look at a Chausson Welcome ’72 which later on became our Vanlife home on wheels. There was a hell of a lot of stress until we got our hands on it but lets just say our life has never been the same.

I always remember when we were making our way through France and we had ear marked this motorhome as one we were interested in because of its age and its cost meant it was one we could definitely look into. They didn’t have any pictures on it for the first few days so we spent a day or so chasing them to try and see what the inside looked like. I think as soon as the pictures came up we rang them up and put a deposit down on it to make sure no one could swoop in and take it from us.

So off we popped to Glossop’s having only got back into our caravan yesterday to have a look at it and we fell in love pretty much straight away and we spent the next 2 hours just sitting in it and asking the Beef what he though and he just sat on the bed. Little did we know then that 12 months later we would have done 8500 miles in her and taken her to Africa, countless European countries and the Sahara desert. I absolutely love that motorhome i do! I don’t think i would change it for the world.
