Welcome to todays diary entry! Final day of prepping for the show, and it’s been non-stop from the moment we walked in. Every last detail needed to be checked, every display perfected, and every bit of stock accounted for. It’s the kind of day where time disappears, and before you know it, the sun has set, and you’re still running around making sure everything is just right. After weeks of relentless work, it’s a strange feeling knowing that tomorrow, it all kicks off. No more rearranging, no more questioning whether things could be tweaked—this is it. The stage is set, and all we can do now is wait and hope it all pays off.
Roger is staying outside the shop with us in his caravan, making it feel even more like a proper team effort. There’s something about having him there that adds an extra layer of camaraderie—it’s not just another show; it’s a shared mission. His wife, Jen, and their two girls, Annie and Lottie, are making the journey down tomorrow as well, which will be nice. It’s funny how these shows always seem to bring people together, turning them into more than just business events. They become mini communities, full of shared stress, last-minute chaos, and the occasional burst of laughter when you realise just how mad the whole thing is.

We pushed through until about 9pm, determined to get everything sorted. It was one of those evenings where you barely even notice the time because you’re so caught up in the rush of getting everything done. Every job seemed to lead to another, and every time you thought you were finished, something else cropped up. But finally, after what felt like an endless day, we downed tools and called it a night. To thank everyone who had stuck it out and given their all over the past few days, we treated ourselves to a well-earned takeaway pizza and a few beers in the shop. Nothing fancy—just a few cardboard boxes stacked on the counter, the lot of us sitting around, knackered but satisfied, reflecting on the work we’d done.
That first sip of beer and the smell of fresh pizza felt like a reward in itself. A small moment of calm before the storm. For a little while, we forgot about stock levels, sales figures, and the million things that could go wrong tomorrow. It was just a chance to breathe, to appreciate the effort that had gone into getting us here, and to enjoy the company of the people who had made it possible.

Then the cold hit. The moment we stepped outside, the freezing air snapped us straight back to reality. You could see your breath in the air, and the temperature had dropped to around 0 degrees—a brutal contrast to where we were just a few weeks ago. This time last month, we were in Morocco, basking in the sunshine, and now we were wrapping up in coats and bracing ourselves against the chill. It’s amazing how quickly things change. The cold made everything feel that little bit tougher, but in a way, it was also a reminder of why we do this—why we work through the long nights, why we keep pushing forward. Because soon, we’ll be back under warm skies, looking back at this moment, knowing it was all worth it.
And just like that, February is over. Another month done, another challenge tackled. Now, all eyes are on tomorrow. The first day of the show, the big test. The moment when all the effort, the planning, and the sleepless nights finally come together. I just hope it’s a strong start—because a good show now sets the tone for the rest of the season.
March isn’t just another month; it’s the real beginning of the camping season. From here on out, it’s full throttle. There’s no slowing down, no taking it easy. It’s time to fasten the seatbelt and buckle up for the madness that’s about to unfold. The next six or seven months will be a whirlwind, and after everything we’ve put into getting to this point, I just hope it’s all worth it. Because once that first customer walks through the doors tomorrow morning, there’s no looking back.
