We think the Beefs sleeping pattern is on the turn. He seems to be dropping that 3rd nap in the day but sleeping for longer in the night time. He slept in this morning until 9am!! We spent a bit of time sitting outside the front of the Van and it got to the point where i was twiddling my fingers waiting for him to wake up. Parenting is funny like that, in the moment you could sometimes kill for some alone time but as soon as you get some, and you’ve had it for a bit. You find yourself sitting there thinking “that’s plenty, wake up now”. In the end it was around 9am when he woke. I was supposed to be having a lie in myself but never got round to it.
We woke to some pretty bad flooding on the pitch, the water had started to recede by now but the rain was apocalyptic in the night. Not far from being some of the worst rain i have ever heard in a leisure vehicle. Normally i find it very therapeutic and relaxing but not this rain. I thought it was going to come through the roof! Our new carpet was outside but the rain had flooded over the top of that so there was mud and sand on it. I had left my chairs out as didn’t realise it was going to rain, they were soaked. Trainers etc were all wet. Bit of a nightmare and perhaps not what you would expect in the south of France in August, albeit end of August.
I then spent large portions of the morning putting chairs in and out of the sun canopy in between rain bursts and bursts of sun shine. Trying to dry them out as quickly and efficiently as possible. After midday the rain has stopped and it meant we could get all the wet stuff out in the sun, but once the sun comes out nothing takes long to dry.
I have managed to set up my beer fridge now as well in the garage, so the fridge can be used solely for food and the beer fridge in the back is for drinks. To be fair id be really interested to see if you could fit and ice cube making in there as well and almost turn it into a little bar. Maybe that is a project for another time.
