Welcome to todays diary entry! Rory is still not well—and if anything, he’s gotten worse. His cough has really kicked in now, and the issue with coughs at his age is that they rob him of sleep, which means he’s tired, cranky, and generally not himself. It’s heartbreaking watching your little one struggle, especially when they’re too young to properly express how they’re feeling.
The tough bit is deciding whether or not to ring the doctor. You get told the usual: “He’s just a child, it’s normal. Give it a few days and call us if it gets worse.” But as a parent, you’re caught in this limbo between not wanting to overreact and not wanting to miss something important. You feel like a nuisance for chasing it—but what else are you supposed to do?

We’ll probably try and get him seen tomorrow, even if just to be told it’s nothing. That peace of mind is worth the wait, and it would help ease the knot of worry that’s been growing with each sleepless night. At the moment, it feels like we’re surviving in shifts, trying to soothe him, settle him, and still function through the day.

Workwise, it’s been a typical manic Monday—but even more so with the upcoming bank holidays and May half-term looming. Everyone seems to be getting organised early this year, which I suppose is no surprise given how good the weather’s been.
There’s a surge of customers trying to make last-minute upgrades, sort spares, or chase delivery times so they’re not caught short on their weekend escapes. It creates this frenzied, slightly chaotic energy in the shop—but also a real buzz, because it means people are excited to get out and use their vans, which is ultimately what we’re here for.
The sunshine really does help everything. There’s something about spring warmth after months of grey that lifts spirits—even when we’re sleep-deprived and running on caffeine. Conversations are lighter, people are smiling more, and the hum of anticipation for summer adventures is properly in the air now. We’re all riding that wave while we can, even if it means our feet barely touch the ground.
🏕️ Cofton Countdown: 5 Weeks To Go! ☀️
We’re officially into Cofton countdown mode and I’m buzzing for it. Just five weeks now until we’re parked up for a full week of peace, fresh air, good company and motorhome life at its best.
We’ll be catching up with Mandy and Feegs—our Moroccan crew—which will be amazing, and it’ll be one of the few times this year where I plan to fully switch off (or at least try!). It’s hard to describe how much this break is needed, especially after everything we’ve tackled over the last few months.
Bring on the BBQs, Rory’s muddy boots, lazy mornings, and hopefully some proper rest. Can’t wait. 🌿🍻🛻✨
