Welcome to todays diary entry! Still having loads of fun looking back through our Morocco pictures from two years ago. It’s mad to think how much time has passed since then. What’s even more surreal is seeing exactly where we were at this point—two years ago today we hadn’t even made it to Atlantica Parc Imourane yet. We were still up the road at the original Atlantica Parc in Imi Ouddar.
That first part of the trip still brings back such vivid memories. We had such a good bunch of people around us at that site. It’s the little things—morning chats with Ness and Gee, walks along the beach, sharing tagines, and watching Rory toddle around in the sand like he didn’t have a care in the world. It felt like one big family back then. The kind of place where the days just melt together in the best possible way—sun, sea, food, and laughter.

We were really settled there, and at the time, it didn’t even cross our minds that we’d look back on it with such rose-tinted glasses. When you’re in the moment, you’re just living day by day—but now, with some distance, I can see just how special it all was.
We had sunrises over the ocean, lazy mornings drinking coffee outside the van, and evenings where we’d sit and chat until the stars came out. That trip became one of those rare windows of time where everything just felt right.
After leaving Imi Ouddar, we tried to be adventurous and push further on to a place called Oliviers. We were full of optimism—new place, different vibe, let’s give it a go. We stayed there one night… and the next morning lasted about two hours before we’d had enough. I don’t even know how to describe the amount of flies.
It was like something out of an Alfred Hitchcock film—absolutely swarming. We barely had time to finish our morning coffee before we were packing up as fast as humanly possible and heading straight back north with Ness and Gee. Sometimes you’ve just got to call it and admit it’s not the place for you.

But that’s the thing—those moments, the ones that didn’t seem like much at the time, they stick with you. Looking back now, even that fly-infested morning is part of what made that trip what it was. It’s all part of the story. And what a trip it was. Morocco gave us so much—sunshine, freedom, simplicity, and a sense of community you can’t always find back home. It challenged us in ways we didn’t expect, but it also gave us memories that we’ll be telling for years to come.
Hard to imagine getting back there right now, though. The calendar is packed, the to-do list keeps growing, and we’re right in the thick of prepping for shows and making sure everything in the shop is ready for the season. It’s full steam ahead at the moment. But that’s how it works—this part of the year flies. You get your head down, and before you know it, it’ll be August, and then we’ll blink and it’ll be a matter of weeks until we’re hitching up and heading south again.
The memories from that trip keep me going on the tough days. They’re a reminder of what we’re working towards. Every long day now, every big weekend, every order we load into the van—it’s all building toward that reward. And if we’ve done it before, we’ll do it again. Morocco is waiting—and when the time comes, we’ll be ready.
