Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!
Welcome to todays diary entry! We started the day about 9am today, we had our own personal camping spaces set up and it was just a case of getting the van empty and getting the marquees set up first so we have somewhere to put the stuff in case it rains. Which no doubt it inevitably will rain because that is all it ever does. The gates opened for the soft launch at about 14:00 so we had quite a bit of time to get stuff up and running. It is only us 2 in the shop for Trib’s (me and Dodge) whilst Jen/ Gina (don’t ask) will be down after there girls finish school.
By the time we had emptied the van we decided that we were going to expand on the space a little bit so that involved the first shuttle run back to the shop to get some more stock. When we spoke to the organizer of the event we promised him a fantastic display if we could have some more space so we had gone from a 3 x 6 pitch to something much bigger. If you give the Dodge an inch he will take a mile and before you knew it i had an awning up and so did he. The Dometic Air Break was up and everything.

That is something we tend to do at the bigger shows… we start off in our own space and before you know it we are doing wind break demos taking up the whole of the aisle. The soft launch was only the bar to be open. The stage isn’t even ready yet as it is so so so windy. If there is one type of weather i hate it is the wind. I don’t mind the rain as much as wind. It was as windy today as i can ever remember it being. Tribs on the Hill as you may have guessed is on a hill and Frodsham is quite high up already so it was absolutely perfect conditions for a hurricane.
We had double pegged the marquees down and whilst Roger went to the shop to get some more stuff i was left in charge of getting everything organized in the shop itself and making sure that when he got back we were on the home straight of being able to officially open. Mark said we could have the whole day if we needed it but we were up and running by about 3pm. We had a really good start to be fair. Things like chairs and tables are always an absolute banker in this sort of thing and we shifted about 6 of our biggest and most expensive chairs called the Kentucky Lakes, they are the grey ones we used to have with the matching foot stall.
