Diary Entry – 27th January 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

The couple that never travel at it again! This was somewhere that we had been wanting to go for ages and is a place called Paradise Valley, it is about 50 minute drive from the Campsite to here up into the hills again which is why yesterday was a worthwhile exercise after all. I took a wrong turning and took us through an even more rural route. I will get onto that later on. There were a few foggy heads this morning as we went out for a couple of drinks that never seems to be a couple of drinks with those guys and i suppose that is part of the fun really it is like having your good pals with you. Ever since they got here we have become close to those guys and they are really really lovely people. As we were warming the motorhome up yesterday they had gone to Agadir for a few drinks and once we had got back we fancied a little potter to the Hyatt for a couple of drinks.

We asked them if they wanted to come and we went the Hyatt but once again they ran our of Casablanca which is becoming a regular thing now which is quite annoying. So we decided to just quickly check out this other place a little bit further down the path. We were told it was 100 metres down the road but it actually felt like it was about 3 miles down the road. They do buckets of 6 x Sam Miguel for 200dhm which compared the Hyatt is very cheap indeed but probably just a bit to far to walk to all the time it is pretty much in Taghazout. Although it does provide more optins of places we can go if we wanted a drink.

We planned one for the road, about 5 times over and ended playing pool till quite late and on the way out for a drink the departure time was 9am however by the time we were walking back we agreed to push it back to 10am. We were still late. No wildly late but late enough, but we set off, the 5 of us on a road trip. The road once again was windy and up through the mountains, not quite sure they qualify as the Anti Atlas mountains but still into the mountains non the less, like i mentioned before i missed a turning and it ended up taking us through an even more extreme route. Through several little villages and dirt roads, i always worry about the length of the motorhome and the over hang at the back going through little streets in case i catch the back of it. The people in these villages must be thinking what on earth is a motorhome from the UK doing al the way out here…

About 10 minutes away from our stop we ended pulling up into a little cafe to as there were chairs and tables in the river and it was in this massive valley. It was a proper proper cool place. The walk from the car park to the Valley was about a 25 minute hike and to be fair probably not the pace to be carrying a 13kg human, this time next year he would probably be ok to walk it but on the way down he was asleep and on the way back he was awake but fighting to get down. My arms were shot by the end of it. To be honest the Valley was ok and i am glad I’ve seen it but the water was freezing, me and dazzler jumped in and literally jumped straight back out. I had more fun getting to the pools than at the pools. Once you have walked down from the car park there is a river that runs right through with little restaurants (yes i had Tagine) and little shops and that. I loved that, once i was at the valley after about 30 minutes especially with the Beef id seen enough. Would i recommend it? Probably, yes if you have not seen it before, would i do it again? Probably not until the Beef was much much older. And with that Paradise Valley will join the list of things that he we will have to do again when he is older.
