Welcome to todays diary entry! Just starting to see the finish line now with the showroom, and it has been quite a transformation. Looking back at how it started compared to how it looks now, the difference is night and day. Every display has been reworked, stock has been shifted multiple times, and bit by bit, it has all come together. It’s one of those things where you don’t fully appreciate the scale of the job until you’re standing in the middle of it, knee-deep in awnings and point-of-sale materials, wondering how on earth it’s all going to get done. But here we are, nearly there.

It’s been an exhausting process, and I’m getting tired of saying how tired I am, but there’s no other way to describe it. I think I’m on about 19 days straight now without a single day off, and it’s definitely catching up with me. Every morning feels like I’ve barely slept, and every night I fall into bed feeling like I could sleep for a week. But there’s no slowing down now—not with the show looming.

The plan was to have a break today, but of course, that didn’t happen—there’s just too much left to do. At this point, I’ve given up on the idea of resting until this show is done. That said, I’ve made a promise to myself that I’m definitely taking next Tuesday off, no matter what. Right now, that feels like a distant dream, but at least there’s something to aim for. The thought of even just one day where I don’t have to think about stock levels, order forms, or setting up displays is the only thing keeping me going at this stage.

One of the hardest parts of these kinds of events isn’t just the physical workload—it’s the mental exhaustion of constantly thinking ahead, planning, and making sure everything is in place. It’s not just about getting the showroom ready; it’s about making sure every little detail is right, from how the displays look to how the sales process will flow on the day. There’s a lot riding on it, and the pressure is always there in the background, making sure you don’t miss anything important.

There’s a part of me that will be glad once this show is over. The build-up has been relentless, and the pressure has been mounting every day. The workload hasn’t been easy, and there have been plenty of times over the last few weeks where I’ve wondered if we’ve taken on too much. We always say we’re not going to overload ourselves, that we’ll space things out better next year, and yet, here we are again, pushing through another back-to-back event schedule.

That being said, I just hope it’s worth it numbers-wise. You put so much time and energy into something like this, and in the back of your mind, you’re always wondering if it’ll pay off. There’s no way to know until we get through the weekend, but if all goes to plan, it could be a great way to start the season strong.

At the end of the day, that’s why we do it—because when a show goes well, when the effort pays off, and when the customers are happy, it makes the exhaustion and long hours worth it. Fingers crossed that all the effort and planning will make it a success, because after all of this, we could really do with a win.
