Welcome To Todays Diary Entry!! Struggling to see anything beyond the show at the weekend now. Every job we’re doing in the shop right now is leading up to it, and I just hope it turns out to be worth all the effort. If it goes well, it’ll be a great way to kick off the season, but if not, it’s going to feel like a lot of time and energy spent for nothing. Trying not to dwell on that too much, though—just need to keep my head down and focus on the work.

We’re still flat-out sorting things indoors at the moment and haven’t even had the chance to look at what’s going outside for display yet. That’s a whole separate task that will need tackling sooner rather than later, but right now, there’s enough to deal with inside. It’s been a real team effort, though—Lisa and Jen (Roger’s wife) have been working behind the scenes, securing show deals, making sure the POS is ready, and handling a lot of the bits that might go unnoticed but are absolutely crucial. Without them keeping everything on track, we’d be in a much worse position.

At this point, I’m starting to think I might have bitten off more than I can chew with all of this, but there’s no option but to knuckle down and get on with it. The sheer scale of the work left to do is overwhelming at times, but there’s no choice but to push through. Too late to turn back now! At least I’ve got a bit of extra help coming in on Friday night after work, which should take a little bit of the pressure off before the weekend. The last thing I want is to be running around last-minute trying to sort things when customers are already walking through the doors.

After a day like today, though, I just needed a bit of a breather. So, after work, me, Lisa, and Wee Joe (our customer service manager) headed to the pub for a couple of hours. Sometimes, you just need that little bit of a release, a moment to switch off and step away from it all. Sitting there with a pint, having a laugh, and not thinking about order forms or display setups for a short while made all the difference. Just a couple of hours of normality in what has felt like a non-stop whirlwind of pressure and deadlines.

It’s easy to get lost in the stress of it all, but moments like that remind me why we do this in the first place. It’s not just about the sales or the stock; it’s about the people, the camaraderie, and the shared experiences of pushing through the chaos together. Tomorrow, it’s back to it, but for now, that small bit of downtime was exactly what was needed.

We went to a little watering hole around the corner from work called The Roman and we quite like it in there. It is the same place that we to on the Friday we first got back. It is a bout a 10 minute walk and they have a good beer selection so there isn’t much to dislike. It also has some take aways next door as well so there isnt much to dislike.
