Diary Entry – 26th December 2023

I don’t know whether it is because i am an eternal optimist but i never doubted for one second whether we would find the wallet. There was a few reason to this really. The first one was that i used the card on Christmas Eve to buy some Ice from the top shop and then since then we have not been anywhere else. Literally to the shop, to here, to Coronation Street and to Geoff’s. It wasn’t at Coronation Street as they had looked for it and it wasn’t the other 2 places then by process of elimination it had to be here. So this morning it was all about trying to find the wallet. I’d been up and tried in the awning but Mum wasnt generally happy with the level of looking i did so was about to check herself.

We sat down in the motorhome and retraced my footsteps and for some reason Lisa seemed to think i was wearing denim shorts but i was wearing tan coloured shorts and i had taken them off along with my t-shirt when i put my secret Santa on. We then realised we couldn’t see the clothes that i was wearing here so we check ed the awning and nothing. I remember that i’d placed them on a bike round at Elaine’s. So we walked around there and asked if they remember picking them up, which Mal said he didn’t but we asked if he could check his washing pile. So after 15 seconds of rummaging he turned around and said are these them? And i can could see the outline of the wallet in there straight away. Catastrophe averted and off we popped to the cash point to pay back the money we had borrowed to get me out of the hotel.

I always knew we would find it but the sense of relief was obvious for Lisa, mainly as every card we had was in there. The wallet has now been broken down and we wont take cards with us. It was silly really to have all the stuff in it but we have learnt our lesson. The thing of all now was that we were in a position to have our Christmas dinner albeit a day late and it was all made in our air fryer and it was absolutely amazing. And Stoke won. SO all in all was a very good day. Even yesterday with the stress was still a wonderful day.
