Diary Entry – 25th March 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Yep, you guessed it another grey start but like i mentioned the motorhome wasn’t as orange, it had looked liked it had been tangoed. After a shaky start it had actually been ok here and i had quite enjoyed our couple of days here and you can see why some people come here and i can imagine if the weather was nice and there was the same sort of entertainment on that you would probably have a right blast. Although, destiny calls and we were headed off.

Look at that face!

We were moving on further around the coast to go and see someone who has followed us for over 12 months and someone we would call the OG Helen Macmillan. I don’t know how it came about but she is as Scottish as Irn Bru and even though we have never heard her actually talk before she spoke Scottish in her texts and messages to us it was all moose this, Nae that, Moose that, Loose this. She had invited us to have a meal at hers and vowed she was going to cook me a pie. I had purposefully not eaten a pie since we got back into Europe as i wanted that be the first one we had.

They were so nice. They met us off the roundabout so they could show us where to park up and we had some drinks then at some people they know who also had a motorhome. Considering we had never met them they went way way way above and beyond to accommodate us. They had planned everything out and it is testament to the human nature to care for others. The food was something else it was proper proper home cooked food. They offered to do our laundry, let us use the shower and everything. To try and look after us like that, was like being with family.

For starter we had soup which was like vegetable soup which had been cooked in the pressure cooker with some really nice bread. Then the main event!! It was Steak pie with cooked veg and roast potatoes. Another example of the thought they had put in was that in the steak which was in a slow cooker they put some sausage in there for the Beef so he could have a bit of pie as well. We then just sat in the living and chatted like we had known each other for years. From now on this will be a stop we make when travelling south to Morocco and we will be back to see them again as we had promised to take them out for some tea. It was just such a lovely lovely lovely evening.
