Diary Entry – 25th July 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! It is still on target to be my least ever favorite show and it really doesn’t show any sign of picking up. There have been a couple of disagreements amongst us all and i have been involved in one myself. It is never nice to be involved in them but i do sometimes feel they are almost an necessary evil. Sometimes a bit of a blow out can do good but these today didn’t really do much good as it didn’t break the cycle just added to it. I just think for people in our industry the summer is opportunity to make enough money to see them through winter.

One of the shop lads won the axe throwing

In summer your outgoings as an operation are the same as December and often your incomings can be 90% less than in summer so you literally have to make hay whilst the sun shines so that means in the summer you have to work long hours to make sure you are in tip top shape for winter. No one works harder than Benn but perhaps that is starting to show and he will openly admit that he isn’t quite himself. He would normally set up camp in the shop and orchestrate the shop side of things whilst that then frees me to go and talk about awnings to people.

But with him not being in the shop and not doing as much as he would do normally that puts extra pressure on everyone else. So when my covering the shop part of the show is rushed off my feet and i can see people chilling down by the awnings it was getting wound up by it. It wasn’t about the sitting down to be fair it was about sitting down on the chair display in and preventing people from being able to see them and the price etc so i had a bit of a spat with one of the lads. Perhaps ididnt orchestrate my message in the best way but i was tired and stressed myself.

After the end of the day we all went and had a bit of team bonding on the axe throwing section and fortunately no axes ended up my way which is fortunate but was nice to actually get out and away from the stand for a while. To be fair i am normally pretty good at stuff like this but i was absolutely abysmal at it and i couldn’t seem to get one to stick or anything so i decided that my samurai assassin days are probably behind and to focus on awning sales. I am sad to say i am not really enjoying it. Something needs to give, we need a big thunder storm to break the cycle.
