Jesus, it has been so warm today and although it has been a wonderful day it is also a sad day at Atlantic Park. Over the last few days there has been somewhat of an exodus of the English people we had become so friendly with over the last 6 weeks. It started off with Tracy who left a little over a week ago, then Lisa’s Scottish pal and his wife, then Ken and Jack-eh (there were very Manc sounding) and tomorrow see’s the exit of Alan and Mel. It was Alan and Mel who we asked about the campsite when we came to have a look around. Since then they have moved next to us, not for us, but because of the shade but when your neighbours then you talk every day. Mel made the pie the other day and it was great. She is so so kind and was the person who started feeding Boris in the beginning. They have been here for about 4 months now so they knew him as a kitten and she has asked us to take good care of him when she goes. It will break her heart to leave him behind. She is definitely a cat person. Maybe a bit of a crazy cat lady.
Nothing was really open last night and we were very fortunate that the restaurant was open yesterday because the pizza place wasn’t. But today marked the first proper day since the end of Ramadan and it was nice to see everything back up and running again. I am not sure if i would be here for the whole of Ramadan again i think the plan would be to come and do October until March and come back into Europe for April. I have been trying to look where the ferries go to from Tangier med and there is one that goes to Barcelona and onto to Italy. So that is an interesting thing to think about, that cuts out 15 odd hours worth of driving if you don’t mind sitting on a ferry for 3 days.
Probably one of my favourite dinners we have had since we have been here today, Ness made a Proper Sunday dinner with gravy and all the works. It was truly a culinary delight. Ken and Jack-EH love Benidorm and we are planning on trying to make it to Benidorm and all we can talk about is English food. Full English this, fish and chips that, pie and chips this. It is amazing how much you miss English food, because we don’t like fish and i am a bit fussy the food can get a bit repetitive. A bit like an all inclusive in the end you just know what it is going to be and there is very little surprise. That is why we enjoyed Gee’s curry so much as it was just something we have not had in a while and it was amazing.
