Diary Entry – 22nd December 2023

Today was an exciting day as we finally took receipt of our new mattress and the Beefs mattress yesterday. I am hoping that the beef having a custom made mattress if his own by the side of our bed is going to revolutionise the motorhome experience for me. At the moment there is the main problem that on the single bed at the front if he was fast enough he could be over the top and i know that, and i also think deep down inside he knows that as well. So every time he moves i get the fear and then Mum has to check on him.

It means now he can get put down at a night time and if he wants to have a carry on now he can do without me assuming the worst. Also, it is more clutter i can get rid of and it means we can have the full sofa set up as well which dramatically increases the feel of space inside. As the bed got made up every night we had some of the sofa cushions in the back garage but once again something else cleaned out of the garage. I am hoping that by the time we set off we will have reduced the overall weight of stuff that we are carrying by about 100kgs. Puts my mind at ease if we are going to visit some of the more rural places in Morocco and more rural roads.

I think we are pretty now to being as light as we can be with how things stand at the moment. Once Lisa has gone through her clothes again and again then we are pretty much there. As looking around i cannot see anything else which wouldn’t be classed as essential. There will be more weight to add back in when we return as like i have said i want a safari room for the sun canopy. I cant bring myself to get rid of the foot stools for my chairs yet. I am not that worried about the weight. To be fair though the chairs are probably some of the heavier bits we have but it is worth it for how comfy they are.
