Welcome to todays diary entry! Feeling so good mentally right now—and to be honest, I’m not entirely sure why. It’s probably a combination of things. We’re having a really strong month in the shop, both personally and for the business, and that always lifts your spirits. It feels like everything’s just working at the moment, and when things click into place like this, you can’t help but feel a bit lighter. Even the usual day-to-day stresses seem easier to handle when you’ve got that underlying sense of progress.
When we came back early from Morocco, we made a conscious decision that we were going to try and pay off as much debt as we could and really tighten things up financially. It was a bold move and not the easiest start to the year, but here we are in March and it finally feels like all the hard work is paying off.
Every penny has been counted, every cost scrutinised, and slowly but surely we’ve started to claw things back. With a bit of luck and continued graft, we should hopefully be in a completely different place financially by the end of this month. The money struggles that felt so heavy at the start of the year don’t feel quite so overwhelming anymore. There’s still a way to go, but there’s now a real sense of possibility rather than pressure.

Another big factor is the exercise. I’ve really been sticking to it, and although it’s only been three weeks, the change in how I feel—both physically and mentally—is massive. I’ve never really been someone who gets a buzz from the gym, but there’s something about getting up early, pushing myself a bit, and then having that time to reset in the steam room or jacuzzi that just hits different.
It’s not even about smashing personal bests every time. Sometimes, just showing up is the win. Even the days where I don’t feel like running, I still go just to have that quiet time before the day starts. It’s become a bit of a ritual and one I genuinely look forward to

The days off I’ve managed to squeeze in recently have also been a game changer. They’ve allowed me to catch up on rest, slow things down, and actually take stock. We’ve been getting to bed earlier too, which has done wonders. I used to think early nights were a bit of a waste, but now I’m seeing the value of them. Waking up feeling refreshed makes a huge difference to how the rest of the day plays out. You feel sharper, more focused, less irritable. It’s such a small shift but it’s made a massive difference.
I honestly can’t remember the last time I felt this good mentally. Everything within my control feels like it’s in a great place. We even had a big tidy-up in the shop this week, and now the place looks as good as I can ever remember it. Clean, organised, and full of that fresh energy that you get when things are running smoothly. You can walk in and feel the difference—not just visually, but in how the space works and flows.
It’s nice to be able to say that things are good. Not perfect, not stress-free, but good. There’s still loads going on, and plenty to do—but right now, everything just feels… settled. No major chaos, no heavy weight on my shoulders. Just that steady, confident kind of good where you know you’re on the right path. Let’s hope this run continues.
