Diary Entry – 21st July 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! I would class myself as pretty cultured when it comes to Morocco travel and my experience and knowledge is probably i would say would be in the top 20% of travelers. And Morocco is roughly 2500 miles South of Stoke On Trent (the center of the universe). Although this weekend i am further north than i have ever been before and we are even higher now at the end of the day than we were at the start of the day.

Tonight’s Final Scottish Park Up

We have had the Typical Scottish weather but i think that brings a sense of emotion to the landscape and it makes it look far more dramatic when your driving through valleys and there is cloud capped mountains/ hills either side (not too sure on the difference). There was this fine misty light drizzle and it just made it look brilliant. To be fair i have enjoyed this Scottish trip more than i thought i was going to and it always makes me more focused to do what needs to be done to drastically reduce our outgoings so we can just potter around and not have to earn as much money but still have a good living.

I also think this has inspired me a bit to have a look at the Scandinavia countries and go and look at those places as i envisage that they will be similar to what i am seeing now. To be the fair the park up we have found i think is the best in Skye and we did absolutely nothing today just stayed parked up and admired the view and it was just stunning. After a little while the drizzle cleared up and it definitely brightened up. The original plan was to try and go into Talisker Distillery but it was packed and we couldnt get a tour.

Which to be honest wasn’t a bad thing as id had a run in with some whiskey last night and i am not convinced we are going to be long term friends. More of a when in Rome situation. We stayed parked up until about 4pm as we needed to catch our ferry back. If i ever came back to Skye again i would park here all the time and then use this as a base and come back every night. Despite our initial challenges yesterday i would still definitely come back to Skye now i understand it a bit better. Although an island so dependent on tourism needs to perhaps be a little kinder to tourists. But who am i to comment. I think i just expect the same hospitality everywhere as it is in Morocco.
