Diary Entry – 21st January 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

I had a proper mans man day today. A proper proper good day. Let me start form the beginning…. On Friday i walked down to the sea front at dusk to sea where the tide was and what time roughly it would be high tide over the next few days as i was going to go fishing. I had been threatening to go fishing for weeks but just never got round to it. Darren from Horse and the Hare had mentioned to me that he had bought some fishing stuff so that was it i had a gilly to accompany me now. So a bit of last night and a bit of this morning i was out setting my rods ups up ready to try and catch them there breakfast. The deal was i catch it and they kill it and eat it.

The whole killing the fish i couldn’t do it man, i couldn’t sleep at night if i did. So Dazzler was at mine for 08:45 and off we trotted down to my lucky fishing spot and best of all it was clear there was no one on the rock so we have a free run at it. We spent about 2 hours there casting in and out and absolutely nothing. The only excitement was when a Morocco man tried to move into our swim and started literally casting over me and Darren and he somehow managed to hook my rod and cast that into the Atlantic ocean which i wasnt very happy about. But he was extremely apologetic and collected it for me.

After 2 hours i had my last cast and no joy but i was extremely looking forward to my breakfast. Mel and Alan brought me a pack of Vo Op bacon from the UK so i then set about cooking that on the Cadac. I literally through every piece of bacon in there along with a handful of cheese and then popped that all onto 1 baguette and ate the lot. Fortunately Mum was on a diet so she didnt want any. I tell you something i have not half missed bacon. Especially high quality bacon from the Co. It was absolutely fantatsic but made me very sleepy.

So i had done fishing, BBQ breakfast and to top it off Morocco had there first match in the Africa cup of nations so we had a nice stroll along the front to meet the Horse and the Rabbit who were already in the hotel and said it was free to come in for the football. We had a few hours in here and had a couple of “one for the road” beverages. And then finally on the way home we stopped off an finally had a good tagine at the bottom. All in all a very good end to a very good weekend with some new pals. Resting my liver for a bit now…
