Welcome to todays diary entry! We’re heading into the business end of the show now, and the next few days will decide just how successful this week has been. It’s been a steady run so far, but the real test comes over the weekend when the footfall reaches its peak. I’ve had another decent enough day today—nothing spectacular, nothing that’s going to let me retire early, but solid and consistent. Holding my own, keeping things ticking over, and staying positive for what’s ahead.

One of the best things about this show has been the people I’ve been working with. The other retailers on the stand have been a great group, and we’ve all gotten on really well. There’s a good mix of banter and professionalism, which makes the long days a lot more enjoyable. When you’re surrounded by a team that knows what they’re doing and can have a laugh along the way, it makes all the difference. These events are tiring enough without feeling like you’re going through it alone, and having a solid group around me has made the whole experience much easier. We’ve been sharing tips, having a laugh during the quieter moments, and keeping each other motivated. It makes a big difference when you’re spending this many hours together.

That being said, I’m trying not to get too carried away. I know how these shows work—everything I’ve done so far will mean nothing if tomorrow doesn’t go well, and Sunday for that matter. My favourite saying always comes to mind at times like this: “There has been many a sip of tea spilt between lip and cup.” In other words, don’t count your chickens before they hatch. Just because things have been going well so far doesn’t mean I can take my foot off the gas now. The next two days are what really matters, and I need to stay focused. I’ve seen it happen before—people get comfortable thinking they’ve done enough, only for the final days to go completely the opposite way. That’s not happening this time, not if I can help it.

I’m a big believer in karma, and I’d like to think that putting the effort in early—helping set up, making sure everything was right before the doors opened—has done me some good so far. Hopefully, that continues into the weekend and helps me finish this show on a high. The work I put in now is going to be what determines whether this week is a real success or just a decent effort. The customers coming through over the next two days are going to be the ones who tip the scales. Some will have been thinking things over all week, coming back for a second look, and that’s where the hard work pays off.

Tomorrow is going to be a big one, so it’s all about getting some rest now and making sure I’m ready to hit the ground running in the morning! The finish line is in sight, but there’s still a lot left to play for.
