Diary Entry – 20th June 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Well, that is officially it and we now have a fully habitation test checked motorhome again, and i also have my solar set up and done and ready to go! I keep saying to Mum that we should now have a few days not plugged in to see how everything works and to give it a trial run but then all i hear is “It is really warm so i need the air con running”. That is literally the only thing we that the batteries and the solar cannot power and to be fair it is quite warm at the moment outside. So it is only fair that despite it raining almost consistently for 6 months we instantly switch that into moaning about the rain.

OOoooooh…. Preeettttttttttttttttttttttttttttyy

But let me start at the beginning of the day. We had the motorhome pack and ready to put into the body shop for 8am. There was a number of things i wanted to be done but time would dictate that. We wanted our battery level indicator wired up and plugged in, we wanted our inverter switch plugged in, habitation check and we were also getting a new roof vent fitted as my other one is playing up and as we are planning on being away for pretty the whole of July i didn’t want us to go away and to not have that ability to get some fresh air blowing through the motorhome.

It ended up taking a lot longer than what we thought due to the fact that the battery level indicator had to be connected to the furthest point on the batteries which meant taking them out again. I think now that is probably about the 3rd time they have been in and out, a little bit like the battery hokie cokie. The switch for the inverter was just a wire to go through some wood and for the switch to be visible to turn it on or off. But the good news is, that has now been done and i have them both by my side of the bed and it looks bloody cool as anything.

The main thing i was most worried about was the habitation check because i was terrified of finding a load of damp in it somewhere especially as having the shower tray done and then it was me that fixed the plugs on the shower tray so i was worried mostly about the things you cannot see rather than the things that you can see. Anyway after checking it all over the motorhome came back fine. I am stupid really because one thing that had stopped me getting it done in the past is because i was always worried about the answer. But certainly now i can feel much more comfortable with the motorhome, MOT done, hab check done, solar done and all my other little tinkering jobs done as well. It is almost like a brand new Moho now. GET ME ON THE ROAD!
