Diary Entry – 19th June 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Whoop Whop Hump day!! Here we go on the home straight now and i although i don’t want to jinx it we are, well at least should be having some decent weather. Although the weather report for our show next week seems to be changing on an almost daily basis. When i checked it out a few days it was due to be amazing the whole time and then now the closer it gets it is saying we have rain on some of the days. I have never ever known a summer like it. When you think that the longest day is on Friday and it has done nothing but rain for the whole year. I, for one, am absolutely sick of it.

That blue sky!

Well, after this week we enter into a really really busy period and probably the busiest we will ever have been. So i am adamant that i want to try and relax this weekend. I am technically in that busy period as i am working 6 days this week btu after Sunday i will then be on a 19 day straight working of which 3 of those will be shows, the first one i am really looking forward to because it looks like a nice little festival with loads of tribute acts. That will be a quieter one and then the weekend is onto one of our flag ship events for the summer and one of the biggest campervan shows.

It is Camper Jam and my first ever show 2 years ago was Camper Jam and it was the end of the first week there i don’t remember much about it apart from play fighting with the Dodge and he put my arm around my back and it made a horrendous noise and it made a right clunk and even though we were both drunk we knew something wasn’t right and he got off straight away. I knew it was bad because it hurt even though id had a drink. I don’t think it has ever been right since that.

That is my compensation for a rainy day that is and the one golden ticket i have. As I’m sure you imagine i don’t bring it up very often. Unfortunately he is not a big advocate of trying to get out of doing manual things with what he perceives to minor ailments. He is a bit old fashioned like that and if you came in to work and had stepped on a land mine and had lost a leg he would still be telling you to walk it off and then in 15 minutes time would be asking you to lift something very heavy. That is just his nature, but he is a good guy. One of the best.
