Diary Entry – 19th December 2023

When we were here earlier in the year we befriended a few animals but there were a couple in particular that we became as close to , as you can with strays in a different continent. There was obviously Boris but then there was a dog we became pals with called One Ear. It wont take Sherlock Holmes to work out why he was called that. Not quite as severe as you may think but he had obviously been in a fight, probably with a cat to be fair and obviously had a bit of his ear missing.

We were lucky enough to see Boris on our first day back but with him being on the site and allowed on sight it was always going to be easier to see him than One Ear. We had been here for 2 months and we had not seen One Ear so we had started to expect the worse, as he does look an old dog. He may be young but i imagine on the streets can be ageing on the fur.

We went for a walk this morning on to the front before Mum started work and we couldn’t believe who we saw? After 2 months of not seeing anything and boom there he was! We are far more dog people than cat people so to see him on the front was a real surprise and treat for us. SO we went to the shop and bought 2 tins of dog and put it down for him. You like to think that he remembers but i am sure he did. He had a little Twinkle in his eye. However, whether that was the 2 tins of dog food who knows.
