Diary Entry – 18th November 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! It is amazing how quickly you can settle into a pattern and a routine with something that you have not done for a long time and despite being away for 8 months nearly you get back and it is straight into the swing of things again. Although this morning we didn’t manage to get that walk in as i had some meeting and some work that i wanted to do. The world of awning sales is slow currently so i am just trying to do what i can to keep busy and keep fixing the nets. The thing at work at the moment is preparing for black Friday.

That night sky though…

As a shop we have taken Black Friday quite serious this year, certainly more serious than we have taken it before and hopefully that should be a good little bit of extra money for the shop. Then I’m sure it will be hunkering down through December ready for the start of the uptick in January and then before you know it its March time and we have one eye on making our way back to the UK. We have been looking at Chalets on the campsite and getting them priced up not that we would ever buy one but it is always nice to have a little look and to try and see what it would be like.

It is actually the vehicle here that makes staying longer more difficult because it can only be here for 6 months in 1 calendar year so if it was to ever be more than that then there is an extortionate import tax on it. Whereas if you didn’t have a vehicle you could do 90 days, fly out for a day and then come back the next day for a further 90 days and when the flights are so cheap you could do that quite easily. We were talking to chap who has been coming here for over 28 years and he said his daughter has got a flight to Agadir for £11!! You cannot get a local taxi for £11 in the UK now.

We have had a really nice chilled out low key day today and we took Beef for a little walk to have a look at a chalet and then went back and had some steak and chips. One of the things which is so well priced here in Morocco is the Steak and it always seems to be really really nice steak as well. I thin i am due a tagine though soon because i have not had one of those for a few days. Although we did have Chinese curry sauce, chicken and rice for tea last night which was absolutely delicious. I am glad we bought some sachets of food over with us now.
