Welcome to todays diary entry! Happy Monday and into a new week. This week feels like an important one—it’s probably the week that’ll make or break our month. Mid-March tends to be a bit quieter in general, so if we can keep things ticking over nicely, it’ll put us in a great place heading into the tail end of the month. Got everything crossed that momentum from the weekend carries through.

We offered to do Outdoor Revolution a little favour by getting them some pictures for one of their products, and we figured—why not make a bit of a thing out of it? So we’ve packed up and decided on an impromptu night or two at Blakemere Touring Park, which is where we’ll be hosting our big show in just a few weeks’ time.

Blakemere really is a cracking place. It’s nestled in the heart of Cheshire and has that perfect balance between peaceful countryside and a lively hub of activity. There’s something for everyone—independent shops, quirky little cafes, a brewery (which definitely doesn’t hurt), and plenty of space to just breathe.

The touring park itself is well-maintained with generous pitches, proper facilities, and a lovely, friendly feel. You get the sense they really care about visitors having a good time there. There’s a little woodland trail nearby, too, which is perfect for walking off a pub lunch or stretching your legs with Rory in tow.

For us, it’s more than just a night away—it’s a chance to visualise the show site properly, see where things might go, where people might gather, and how we might set up our pitch. It’s also just nice to spend a little bit of time in the place where all our hard work will come together soon.

So tomorrow, when I wake up, I’ll not only be on a proper campsite but also officially on a day off. That’s a rare treat. With the next few weeks shaping up to be absolutely flat out, I’m hoping tomorrow brings a bit of calm. A walk, some fresh air, maybe a gym session if I can squeeze it in. It’s nice to have a chance to recharge before we’re knee-deep in awnings and customer enquiries again. Just a bit of breathing space before the madness hits.

That said, the pace of my day will depend entirely on when the canopy from Outdoor Revolution arrives. If it lands early, I can get it sorted and enjoy the rest of the day at my own pace. If it shows up later, well, it’ll be more of a working rest day—but I’ll take what I can get! The important bit is being out of the usual environment for a bit and giving my brain a rest from the to-do list.

Regardless, I’m looking forward to switching off a little bit, getting a change of scenery, and being back at Blakemere ahead of the event. It feels like a nice way to reset, get the mind focused, and also start mentally preparing for everything we’ve got coming. With the countdown to the big show now truly underway, a little pit stop like this might just be exactly what we need.
