Diary Entry – 16th July 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Today is my last full day at work and 1 more sleep until our (Not The) NC500 mini tour of the west coast of Scotland. Although it nearly got cancelled today. The reason being that the weather doesn’t look very good and i have seen something on Sky News that says something about a mini heat wave for the weekend but everywhere i look seems pretty average unless we headed to the south coast but we go there loads and i refuse to go to Cofton again.

So we did look at going to Wales to neat where my Dads static caravan is which is Aberystwyth/ New Quay way. We then looked at making our way down south and maybe Hayling Island or Dorset or something like that but even then the weather didn’t look absolutely incredible so we decided in the end that we should go to Scotland and if it rains it rains, we would just get on with it. The whole reason for this trip is that it is Lisa’s birthday and i do know that she has always dreamed of going to Mallaig.

Although everywhere looks nicer in the sun we thought that it wouldn’t impact on how nice Mallaig and Arisaig look. To be fair we just know that is where we are heading there, we are not sure what we are going to do when we get there or how quickly we will get there we just know that is where we are going. One thing i am going to enjoy is only driving for an hour or 2 rather than the 4 or 5 or 6 hours i have done in the past when we are heading for somewhere. When i finish tomorrow all i want to do is get on the road and try and get north of Glasgy and see what happens.

That is the absolute beauty of moho’ing is that a lot of the time we don’t know where we are going to stop until we have set off in that direction, we wont decide where we are going to stay until we set off and that always adds an element of excitement to your trip. I also don’t want to us any campsites whilst we are up or maybe have one night on a campsite on the Saturday in case we have any washing or drying that needs to be done but apart from that i am looking forward to experiencing Scotland’s welcoming nature towards motorhomers. I just cross my fingers for a little bit of nice weather, well, an hour or so without rain.
