Diary Entry – 15th May 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Looking back through the pictures of this time last year and we were greeted by this lovely snap of the top of Africa as it was around this time of year we headed back to Europe. Once again it is incredible to think of what we have been and done this last 12 months since that point. And just how much everything has changed whether that is what vehicle we are driving or how much the Beef has grown up since then. It is all very very very mad. It was around this time last year when we also laid our eyes on the first advert from Glossop’s about a particular Chausson Welcome ’72 that was about to go up for sale.

Waving Goodbye to Africa!

Little did we know that this would then end up being our first motorhome and what a wonderful home it has been to us all on the road this almost last 12 months. We were both saying recently how much we miss Morocco and how we cannot wait to get back there. Dependant on how the next few months pan out then hopefully be there in nearly 5 months time from now. So it wont be long especially if time goes as fast as it always seems to. Especially if it goes as fast as it has since we have been back from our travels. Especially thinking how fast July will go with the 4 shows in 5 weeks we have pencilled in.

Just as it has started to settle down from the weekend show in Nottingham, all of a sudden we now have one eye coming up on the show at the weekend. The summer working in this industry is wild, as in the summer it is non stop to the winter time it slows down quite a bit. So to see it as it is now is really impressive as i have never seen the actual physical shop this time of year. When I first started working for A and E some many moons ago I started in the middle of June which is not mid season but is probably juststarting to tail off as normally people who want to buy for the season have done so already.

We were planning on having a pub stop over tonight but we ended up getting drafted in to one of the Dodges 10 minutes after work so we didn’t end up finishing until about 19:30 so that went out of the window. Although we made good time and good progress as we have his van packed and the show isn’t far from him so he can head straight there in the morning. We had to load a few bits into my motorhome as well but we can set of relatively early as well to start getting prepped at for 11:00.
