Welcome to todays diary entry! I literally have 2 more sleeps until some time off! To say that i am now getting a bit excited is a bit of a understatement. Literally my last day off was the 23rd June. People roll there eyes now at work as they say i seem to mention it a lot. I must admit it has become a bit of a tool now to beat some of the lads there when they say they are tired or struggling to get going this morning. The only come back i seem to be getting is from the Dodge who keeps saying that he hasn’t had a day off for longer so i am requesting a stewards enquiry.
I was especially tired this morning we didn’t get officially parked up until gone 11pm last night because of the football and leaving Stoke to get to here and to make matters worse i didn’t sleep much throughout the night either. Which was probably my fault as much as anything as i decided to park in a different spot tonight and what i didn’t realise was that is was right underneath an electric cable running over and because the rain was awful every now and then there was a drop of water but they were big blobs. I don’t mind the sound of rain on the motorhome but this was out of sync and a little thud not like rain drops.

Time really seemed to drag today and i think that has something to do with the fact that there has been so much riding on the last 21 days that all of sudden this was just a shop and just working in the shop without the high pressure deadlines and the high intensity pack ups and pack downs. Although there are some provisional plans in place to try and do some extra shows in September but i cannot go into detail with those yet but there may be more than 2 shows getting added to our plan in September which will be loads of work again but in this industry when the winters are as harsh as they are, anything you can do to limit the winter time is massively beenficial.
We have always been a proactive team so rather than wait for people to come to us we have always been about going to the people, the Dodge always says that effort brings results and if it takes a lot of work but it brings in the money then sometimes that is just what you have to do. Alongside that i want to really wind down in the winter and if we can get have enough in the bank to see us through a couple of months so i can have a proper break will be better as well. Or at least meaning i don’t have to work loads and just use a bit of savings to top us up that would be magic. Rather than a summer holiday i could have a 8 week winter holiday.
