After the NEC, one of the things that i was surprised at was how many people who asked if we were going to continue doing YouTube and you almost forget that if you get 20000 views in a month that is 20000 people that have watched something you have created. A lot of people ask but one thing that we had struggled with was transitioning from a Caravan seasonal pitch channel to a campervan/ motorhome travel channel. We found it immensely challenger and that was one of the reasons that my love for it was dwindling as you spend sometimes a lot of time putting these things together and for them to do poorly sometimes is a drain on your motivation.
At the NEC i made a commitment to giving another go to YouTube to try and refocus on it. Although looking back into it i think that was partly my fault as i hadn’t done something to let YT know that we had changed dynamic. I have changed that since and we are certainly having more luck with it. I intend to keep ploughing on with YouTube in the new year and that is certainly going a big focus for us in the new year. We have also started doing some cooking videos as well. Here are a list of the videos we have released in December:

So that is 6 longer length videos and we also release 1 YouTube Short a day as well so quite a lot of time goes into it. So as you can imagine any success that you get you appreciate and on the flip side any unsuccessful videos or periods that you go through hurt a lot as well. YouTube is one of the residual income streams we talk about and it is certainly something that we are going to work on to try and increase the money we generate from it. My target is by the end of December 2024 to be generating over £100 a month from YouTube. So you can all hold me to account on that as a target.
