Welcome to todays diary entry! Today we had made a Booboo having never been here to the Vineyard before we didn’t know what to expect and on the plan for the Convoy was 2 nights but we did the wine tour and we did the meal last night so we decided yesterday that we would move on. The only problem with that was that Lisa was down to work today meaning that we were going to have to postpone our trip to Casablanca until either later tomorrow or postpone it indefinitely on this trip. After a conflab this morning and not wanting the guys to miss out out on Casablanca we decided to send them on there way and we would catch up with them tomorrow at the next stop.
Now the next stop needs no introduction and is, in our humble opinion, probably the second best campsite in Morocco and is north of Marrakech and is called La Relais. Anyone really that has ever been to Morocco in a leisure vehicle i can guarantee has been here and it is lovely in the day but it is even more spectacular in the evening and is one of the things that Atalntica Park is missing which is a bit of a communal space around the pool and a bit of a bar and a bit of a vibe. La Relais has that in abundance.

If you could lift that area up by helicopter and then drop it here then my god you would easily have the best campsite in Morocco. For some reason for the purists it doesn’t get as much stick as Atlantica Park for being busy. People seem intent on moaning about Agadir because it is full a lot of the time and is quite expensive by Moroccan terms for campsites and whether there is an element of jealousy but people say “it is not the real Morocco”. Which is strange really and i am never sure why this doesnt count as “real”
After Mum finished work we packed the motorhome up and then made our way south to get to La Relais. It was roughly a 4 hour drive from the Vineyard so it was the largest bit of driving we had done for a while and ot be fair it was actually a relatively pleasant drive. Although I broke 1 of my absolute NO NO rules. I don’t really like driving in Europe in the dark let alone Morocco but because of stopping to get some food it meant that the last 20 minutes were in the dark and if it hadn’t have been for knowing the road i probably wouldn’t have. I wont be doing it again mind, but we made it safely and we were know only 1 stop away from home!
