Welcome to todays diary entry! We are on our way home!! It is official we had quite a big day of driving today as 230+ miles of non dual carriage way roads in the Sahara desert and its surroundings is a lot. When google says something is going to take 5 hours in Morocco, i promise you now, it is telling big massive fibs. We are never in a massive rush so it takes as long as it takes. We set off at about 11ish and then arrived at about 6pm but we did have a little stop for diesel and for something to eat.
The food was good and was cooked fresh on a BBQ outside of the restaurant there was only one problem FLIES! It was like something off a horror movie so we asked him to pack it up and we ate it on the move in the motorhome. I just hate bugs and flies. As we had decided to swerve the other places it brought us a different route back from the desert and once again it was some of the best scenic roads I have driven on again. Honestly, I cannot describe and the thing is videos or pictures can never ever do it justice.

We have arrived back at Escales which is the same park up we stayed at on the way to the desert. One of the things I love about Morocco is the want of the people to try and help you and to fit you in. When we arrived and asked if we could stay for one night he said “I’m not sure, I’d have to look” and within 2 seconds he said you can go there if you like. We then said “Can we eat tonight?” to which he replied we could because he had a party of 26 eating so we couldnt. It was also Ramadan as well, but we asked about a take away and he said “Ok, why not”. We had gone from potentially not being able to stop for the night to having a pitch and a take away within about 6 minutes.
Today was one of the longest drives id done in Morocco and the 2 other similar drives had been on dual carriage ways so was not the same levels of concentration that i had experienced today. It is so concentration intensive that it really really takes it out of me. By the time i had eaten a Kefta Tagine (standard) i was lay on the back bed with the Beef watching the Wonka movie and i think i was asleep before everyone. Sometimes when he thinks he is not ready for bed he will keep crawling out of bed and Mum has to sit at the bottom of the bed to stop him from crawling out. I dont remember falling alseep. I dont remember Mum getting into bed. So i must have been well gone for 9am. A much smaller drive miles wise tomorrow but heading over the TiznTchika pass which is one of the most famous passes in Morocco.
