The show doesn’t officially start until Tuesday, but I’m heading there early on Friday to help Dometic set up their stand. It’s always a bit of a mission getting everything sorted, but these shows don’t just happen overnight—there’s a lot of work that goes into making them run smoothly.

The shows themselves are always demanding, and with me being back so soon after our time away, I can’t help but feel a bit apprehensive. Have I bitten off more than I can chew? It’s going to be non-stop, and I need to make sure I don’t burn myself out too quickly. But at the same time, I know how important these shows are, not just for us but for the manufacturers as well. We rely on each other in this industry, and helping them out when they need it is just as important as them supporting us. Setting up a stand for a company like Dometic isn’t just about making things look good—it’s about ensuring their products get the best exposure possible and making sure everything runs smoothly when the show starts.

With the show just days away, the reality is setting in that it’s going to be full-on. Long days, early starts, and back-to-back conversations with customers, manufacturers, and industry experts. It’s exciting but exhausting at the same time. These events are about so much more than just selling products; they’re about connecting with people, sharing knowledge, and making sure the right products get into the hands of the right customers.
I know that once I’m there, in the thick of it, the adrenaline will kick in, and I’ll thrive on the atmosphere. But right now, as I’m packing up and thinking about what’s ahead, I can’t help but feel a little bit daunted. The NEC is a massive venue, and when you’re running on little sleep and non-stop conversations, it’s easy to hit a wall.
That being said, I wouldn’t miss it for the world. These shows are where everything comes together—the products, the people, the passion for the lifestyle. It’s where I get to see what’s new in the industry, meet fellow enthusiasts, and remind myself why we do what we do. For now, though, it’s all about getting everything sorted, making sure I’ve packed what I need, and preparing myself for a hectic but exciting few days ahead.
