Diary Entry – 13th December 2023

My mind is running wild now with all my talks of travelling around and what modifications i want to make to the van before we leave Morocco. Mum has spent all of her time whilst we have been trying to find someone who can paint the wood on the inside of the motorhome and she has found someone now. We have also had a price for the reupholster work to be done on the Motorhome as well. Literally the full shabbang, curtains, carpets drivers seats, main living area, head board and when i say literally every inch of the motorhome i am not joking. I am talking about a new mattress for us as well.

So we want that doing, i also want to get some paintwork done on the Moho as well as the paint has frayed over time, i think that is what ti is called where it has started to peel off but i believe that is relatively common thing. Our headlights as well need polishing down as they have gone a bit yellow which once again i think is quite common. I have also had a guy over to come and have a look at giving it a service and a check over to make sure she made it here in one piece ok. Oh, one other thing we also want the guy who can paint inside to paint a little Morocco picture on one of the doors.

I think once that gets done will probably be about £2000 for everything but at the end of the day we live in it so getting the work done on the inside is only the same as decorating a house. The van though will be pretty much a new van but i have made Mum commit to keeping this van for a few years rather than looking to change it next summer of the summer after. Then, if we have any spare pennies left after that then i wouldn’t mind getting another battery fitted, another solar panel and an inverter because if we are going to travel i need to be able to use my air fryer. Then the final piece to the jigsaw would be lithium batteries and once we have that we wouldn’t need electricity out here at all i believe as the solar would be enough to top up everyday. Although i would pay the extra £2 a day to have EHU but the ability to have extended time off grid if we needed would be useful if i wanted to do a mini desert tour.
