Welcome to todays diary entry! This was it the official launch of the Convoy! I literally could not believe how many vans and people there are. It is something quite extraordinary when you think. All of these people trusted in us to be in Spain when we said we would and committed to coming to Morocco with us. It is absolutely wild to think about and despite me feeling like it has put me under a bit of extra pressure being able to sit here now and see it all happen is mental. There is Spanish vans, an Austrian van, a Belgian van, a French van, an old TNT truck, a horse box, a panel van, and big Adria and us.
Although sitting here now and looking at what we built is quite incredible and such an eclectic bunch of people as well from all walks of life. This is without the Brookes and the Fegans being here as well otherwise would have not been far from 30 vans. So people have commented on stuff and said just what a great idea it was but as you can imagine as well there are several people who say “i cannot think of anything worse” and “They will love you lot in Morocco”. I understand that you can not ever please everyone and the general consensus has been one of people buzzing to be part of it. Buzzing with being part of the largest land invasion of North Africa since WWII.

To be fair it was a relatively stress free process and everyone bar one van got on the ferry and they somehow ended up on a earlier ferry so they were there before everyone else. Apart from that we all managed to get on one ferry to be fair i was a bit cheeky and i got there at like 08am to make sure i was going to be on that ferry. If anyone was getting left behind it certainly wasn’t going to be me. SO we moved last night to get close to the port and we were about 5 minutes away and we were still there early.
We all got through the port, got through customs and then arrived at our first campsite in Asilah and they somehow managed to squeeze us all on the campsite. It was very very snug but we all got on. We came into Asilah a different way this time and rather than being in the guardian parking we were in the campsite so we managed to see all the long beaches of which we never got to see before. Maybe, looking at it now, with seasoned eyes, maybe i have been wrong about Asilah. We did also discuss whether we would have had the same experience first time round if we had of gone on a campsite. Who knows, well, we will never know.
