Diary Entry – 10th May 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Today was the final set up day and boy has it been an absolute slog of a set up especially with the series of late nights and extremely early mornings I was really feeling it today but the good thing about it was that there was the cavalry from Outdoor Revolution today with a handful of them here to help us set up but as it got to the early after noon i was definitely starting to flag the good and the bad thing though was the weather. It was so far which is great because, well, at least it is not raining.

Although not good because it was really really hot and when your constantly moving around and lifting stuff you really feel the heat. I don’t remember the time i last sweat like i have today as in physical sweat was running down my face. I’d had a productive morning as id gotten up and sat with a little table outside from about 07:30am and enjoyed sleeping past 04:45 so i was feeling pretty good at this time and it was blue skies all round already but it was nice to just sit outside for a while, Beef was still asleep and Mum was just having a chill out on the back bed.

We were pretty much full set up by about 4pm so as the rest of guys set off on there merry way we decided it would be a good time to just sit down and have a drink. We were due to be making curry tonight but the Dodge opted instead to make his lasagne and he was going to try and do it on his Cadac in a ceramic dish it tasted ok, well, the bits that were not burnt onto the bottom of the pan and the pan had split from the heat, So safe to say i don’t think he will be doing that again in that method.

So there we were on Friday evening me, the dodge and Benn and something that the Dodge said made me smile as we all sat there and admired what we had built in less than 48 hours. He said “It never really feels like work when you doing it with your mates”. That was a really nice thing to say. I always compare us 3 to the Top Gear lads. Benn is definitely Jeremy Clarkson as he is quite abrupt and brash but that is just his nature. I’m the funny one so i would Richard Hammond despite being 6 foot 4 and that leaves the Dodge as James May which he absolutely didn’t like being called that! We ended up having quite a late night in the end but when the sun is out and you are away, why not?
