Diary Entry – 10th January 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

I think we are going to have problems with our visa extension applications. We got the stamps last week on the 2nd January and we were advised that it would take roughly 2 weeks to sort out. The reason i think we have problems is that one of the people who work in the office of the campsite came down and asked to see Rory’s passport. He wrote down some things and then asked if he could take some pictures of it. Of which we of course obliged and off he went on his golf buggy and about 60 minutes later 2 more people arrived on golf buggies and then asked to see his birth certificate.

One of the lucky things about living in our motorhome full time is that we have pretty much all of our essential documents to hand. If it had of been in storage that would have posed huge issues for us as we would have needed someone to go and get it out etc. So once again he looked at it, took photos and rang someone and spoke on the phone for a couple of minutes He then asked if he could borrow the birth certificate for an hour. He then brought it back a couple of hours later and has asked us both to go into the town hall again with our passports. To get some extra documents stamped and to take them back to the campsite. I suppose it is just the authorities making sure that the Beef is ours and we are not trying to smuggle him in or out. Not sure wehther they would accept watching our YouTube channel as evidence that he is ours.

So you can add that to our list of jobs that we have to do quite soon, that and sort the extension on on the motorhome. Then once they are done then we are good to stay until the end of April. These things, these adult tasks don’t half give me anxiety they are just very high stress, tense situations not helped by the fact i know 1 word of Arabic and about 6 words of French and i do get stressed and flustered relatively easily.

We are coming into a bit of a heat wave here in the next few days where the weather is going to be getting up towards the dizzy heights of 30 degrees which is far far far too hot for us. So no doubt the next few days will be spent sitting undernesath the sun canopy and in the motorhome under the air conditioning. Onec again that air conditioning as we start to move towards spring will come into its an will reiterate just how worthwhile that investment was and we will never ever not have air conditioning again.
