Welcome to todays diary entry! Back in the shop today, first day back after what feels like forever. It’s a weird one—buzzing to be here, get stuck in, and throw myself into everything, but at the same time, there’s this little knot in my stomach knowing we’ve left behind Morocco, the sun, the slow mornings, the mint tea, and, most of all, our friends. It’s mad how quickly a place can start to feel like home. And now, back in the UK, it’s straight back into the madness that is A and E Leisure.

First thing this morning, I walked through the doors and got that familiar smell—the mix of camping gear, new awnings, and a bit of that classic workshop ‘lived-in’ scent. The lads were all there, some cracking jokes straight away about me turning up with a tan while they’ve been battling the winter. Can’t lie, I was feeling pretty smug about that. Joe’s first words were something along the lines of, “Oh look, the Moroccan Prince has graced us with his presence,” before he launched into some nonsense about how he kept everything running like clockwork while I was away. Classic Joe.

The big project on my mind now is getting stuck into the A and E Leisure Shop. This thing is going to be huge. It’s not just about throwing together a few products and calling it a day—we want it to be an experience, something that gets people excited about what we do. The problem is, with the NEC Motorhome and Caravan Show starting on Friday, I can’t really sink my teeth into much this week. It’s all about prep, making sure everything is in place, and then it’s full steam ahead once we’re back from the NEC.
Speaking of the NEC Show, that’s another beast entirely. It’s one of the biggest events in the industry, and this year is shaping up to be an absolute belter. We’ve got new products to showcase, people to network with, and no doubt a million questions to answer from potential customers. I love it, though. There’s something about being in that environment, surrounded by people who are just as obsessed with this lifestyle as we are. It’s intense, non-stop, and by the end of the weekend, I’ll be running on fumes, but it’s one of those things that reminds me why I love this industry.
The only downside? Leaving Morocco wasn’t easy. The past few months have been unreal—waking up to blue skies, warm air, and having that freedom to just explore at our own pace. The little things hit the hardest, like the morning routine—grabbing a fresh orange juice from the market, sitting outside with the sun on my face, and hearing the call to prayer in the distance. It’s worlds apart from stepping outside to cold, grey British mornings and the hum of traffic instead. But that’s the trade-off, isn’t it? We love what we do, we love the buzz of it all, and getting back into the swing of things is just part of the cycle. Doesn’t mean I’m not already counting down the days until we can escape again, though!
One thing I’ve definitely missed is having proper access to all my gear. In Morocco, I made do with what I had, but there’s nothing like being in the shop, surrounded by all the tools and bits I need to make things happen properly. I’ve got big plans, especially for growing the A and E Leisure brand, and now it’s time to get cracking.
For now, it’s a bit of a weird limbo—excited for what’s coming, sad about what we’ve left behind, and gearing up for a mental few weeks. But one thing’s for sure—this year is going to be huge, and I’m ready for it.
